Our founding attorney, Ned Barnett, is an attorney with more than 20 years of experience in handling criminal law. His career has included service as a state prosecutor in the Galveston County Criminal District Attorney’s Office and as a federal prosecutor for the Department of Justice with the United States Attorney’s Office in Houston. This work has given him an inside perspective on the way in which a prosecutor’s mind works, which helps him structure the strongest DWI defenses possible.

Mr. Barnett is Board Certified in Criminal Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization. He is also a founding member of the National College of DUI Defense. He is certified in the standard field sobriety tests that police officers use when arresting people accused of DWI, and he is certified to operate the Intoxilyzer 5000, the breath test machine used by police officers in Texas. When confronting police officers at trial, he draws on knowledge gained from these certifications. This gives Mr. Barnett an advantage in court – an in-depth perspective into errors made by the police:
